Author visits are entitled, The Power of Poetry Interactive Poetry Program. The program is based on the book 101 Recitable Poems For School Age Children and is designed to introduce children of all ages to the wondrous rhythm of words.
If your school sponsors a Family Reading/Literacy Night, then Dr, Harlow and his daughters are available to entertain and educate your audience with a 45-60 minute interactive poetry presentation. It is the perfect opportunity for families to listen, laugh, and learn as they join in to act out and recite poems such as, "You Can Dance", "Basketball Lingo", and "Shapes". The interactive poetry program is sure to create memorable teachable moments and stimulating conversation.
(Honorarium $350.00)
Dr. Harlow is also available for author visits during the school day. For classroom to classroom visits, Dr. Harlow takes 15-20 minutes per class to act out and recite some of his most popular poems. Students are encouraged to participate via movement, call and response, reading, and memorizing easy-to-learn poems. In a two hour time period, 6 to 7 classrooms will benefit from these memorable author visits.
(Honorarium $150.00 per hour of classroom visits)
Dr. Harlow's interactive poetry presentation can also be tailored for larger groups of students in the same grade level. Grades 1-5 are ideal for this. For example, if your school has four 1st grade classrooms, they can be combined in a suitable room to enjoy Dr. Harlow's program. The presentation is 30 minutes for each grade level.

The Power of Poetry Interactive Poetry Program is also available to churches, youth organizations, festivals, and libraries. Books are made available for purchase and autographed upon request.
